We retrofit this Boulder basement with a JVC DLA-RS400 reference series 4K Projector, Samsung UHD blu-ray player, 110″ motorized screen, and Onkyo RZ series receiver for 7.1 channel surround sound. We utilize the Celerity fiber optic HDMI cables to deliver the full 18Gbps data rate for maximum picture quality supporting the complete spec at 4K/60, 4:4:4, 12 bit deep color, and HDR.
This chart shows the different possible iterations of 4K. As you can see just because your TV says “4K” it doesn’t mean your getting the best posiible result. Not all equipment or cables support the full 18Gbps spec and it becomes especially difficult to find a solution for projectors where the cable length is often 50 feet or more. We have found that the only way to get the true full spec from the system is to use either Celerity fiber optic HDMI cables or the Ethereal Gigabit Extender on a passive copper HDMI cable up to 17M.
