We recently completed this av installation in a new build for Morningstar Homes. The home features Lutron RadioRa2 lighting control, SONOS whole-home audio with Totem Acoustic in-ceiling speakers, and structured wiring for high-speed network and cable systems with upgraded wifi access points.
The family room has a 60″ Samsung 4K UHDTV and SONOS 5.1 channel surround system utilizing their PLAYBAR, SUB, and a CONNECT:AMP connected to a pair of Totem Acoustic in-ceiling speakers. Control of the av systems and lighting control is accomplished via an RTI T2X universal controller and iOS apps.
All of the equipment is hidden out of site in a rack that can pull out and rotate for ease of access and service. Sources include Xfinity X3 DVR client, Blu-ray Disc, and Apple TV. SONOS media players were an ideal choice for this home because they use digital amplifiers which run cooler, use less energy, and are more efficient than traditional analog amplifiers.
